May Adams Cornwall Executive Director VIWMA
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (WAPA) and the Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) are proud to be co‐hosts of the 18th Annual Caribbean Water and Wastewater Conference and Exhibition to be held from October 4‐10, 2009 in St.Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Our major partners in this venture, the Government of the Virgin Islands’ Office of the Governor and the Department of Tourism and the University of the Virgin Islands, look forward, as we do, to welcoming you to our beautiful capital, Charlotte Amalie. It will be an enjoyable week of shared information, thought‐provoking discussions, spirited interaction, and exciting technical and cultural tours and events. Our agencies share a vision that, at the conclusion of the conference, all attendees will be more knowledgeable and more committed to the prudent yet innovative use of the Caribbean’s water and waste resources for the social and economic development and sustainability of the region.
As we look forward to developing our resources through shared initiatives and technologies, we urge representatives from all CWWA member countries to attend this annual conference and to join us in celebrating CWWA’s 20th Anniversary of forming partnerships with water and waste resources industries throughout the Caribbean and internationally. We encourage and are grateful for the support that we will receive from partnering sponsors, vendors, and all other stakeholders interested in this important conference. By working together, we can successfully expand our network of collaboration to ensure a “Green Future” for the Caribbean.
Sincerely,
